At one time, Campbeltown boasted 34 distilleries and proclaimed itself "the whisky capital of the world." However, the combination of Prohibition and the Great Depression in the United States led to most distilleries going out of business. Campbeltown still houses some of the most unique distilleries in Scotland, though. Take a tour, taste a few, and pour your own bottle straight from the cask.
