On Tuesday, July 21st 2009, the festivities of The Grand Opening included speeches and entertainment accompanied by endless food, beverages, and golf. Those in attendance included Minister of Enterprise, Energy and Tourism, Jim Mather, "Old Tom" Morris, David McLay Kidd, members of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, members of the Machrihanish Golf Club, and numerous golf writers and journalists from around the world.
